The HOSPITALITYINSIDE Story

The story of HospitalityInside starts in 2005 when founder and Editor-in-Chief Maria Puetz-Willems, a specialized international hotel trade journalist, decided to focus on delivering quality content exclusively for the top management in the hospitality industry. Today’s online magazine hospitalityInside.com has become the opinion leader in the continental European hotel industry reaching out to readers in 20 countries.

9/11 and the resulting media crisis led to a considerable decrease in the number of jobs for Maria. In search of journalistic alternatives, she subsequently developed the online magazine hospitalityInside.com together with her husband Michael Willems, a business economist, SME consultant and today’s Managing Director of the publishing house. The online magazine launched at ITB 2005 and drew attention with its concept, which has not been copied by any other hotel expert media yet.

HospitalityInside GmbH, based in Augsburg (near Munich), is a specialised information provider for the international hotel industry – and is regarded as an opinion leader in Continental Europe among insiders.

The publishing house has created an online and offline network

· of professional networking and presentation platforms
· such as international hotel conferences, trade fairs and events

· for subscribers, trade fair partners and market participants.

The joint stand “World of Hospitality” at EXPO REAL in Munich in October also contributes to this objective. With its start in 2011, HospitalityInside helped to develop a market place for the hotel industry at Europe’s leading trade fair for investments and property. Since then, the “World of Hospitality” has become a popular venue for the industry’s decision makers.

Since 2008, Maria Puetz-Willems has also organised the hotel convention at EXPO REAL, the “Hospitality Industry Dialogue”. In addition, between 2006 and 2017, she further established the “ITB Hospitality Day”, the hotel convention at the world’s leading travel trade show in Berlin, and made it a success story with 300 panellists and more than 16,800 audience members.

All events and network platforms are on a high-quality and sometimes even exclusive level and are based on personal communication.

The aim

The aim of hospitalityInside.com is to be and remain a fair, creative and at the same time, constructive and critical partner for the industry and provide its network to like-minded people within the industry.
