The HOSPITALITYINSIDE Story

The story of HospitalityInside starts in 2004 when founder and editor-in-chief Maria Puetz-Willems, a specialized international hotel trade journalist, and her husband Michael Willems, a business economist, consultant and today’s Managing Director of the publishing house decided to focus on delivering quality content for the top management in the hospitality industry.

Today’s online magazine hospitalityInside.com has become an insider magazine and the opinion leader in the continental European hotel industry.

The magazine launched at ITB 2005 and publishing in German and English drew attention with its concept and values, which has not been copied by any other hotel expert media yet.

HospitalityInside GmbH, based in Augsburg (Greater Munich), has turned into a specialised information provider for the international hotel industry – and has been developing its industry network via a range of exclusive and high-calibre initiatives, such as the joint stand “World of Hospitality” at Europe’s leading real estate and investment fair in Europe (since 2011) and the focused Think Tank (HITT) since 2018 about digitalisation and sustainability.

SUCCESS STORY “World of Hospitality” (WoH)

With its start in 2011, HospitalityInside helped Expo Real to develop a significant marketplace for the hotel industry at Europe’s leading trade fair for investments and property. Until today, it has grown to an important platform for the European hotel industry.
In its heart you find HospitalityInside’s joint stand “World of Hospitality” – with up to 30 exhibitors and offering customized and compact workstations and meeting points.

Another popular HospitalityInside initiative in the context of Expo Real is the by-invitation-only networking event “BRICKS & BRAINS” – Where Hospitality meets Real Estate.

SUCCESS STORY HospitalityInside Think Tank (HITT)

In June 2018, a new information and event format has been launched: HITT, the HospitalityInside Think Tank about Digitalisation, for hotel experts inside and outside the industry, with a limited number of participants.

In 2021, the focus has been expanded to Sustainability & Digitalisation.

This event made the HITT Community grow year by year, also thanks to the special spirit of unique locations like the solar-powered event ship that floats across Berlin’s waterways and locks up executives to talk face2face with their peers.

CONFERENCES SHARING KNOWLEDGE

are sought-after platforms by the industry. Expo Real’s annual highlight is the hotel conference HID, the “Hospitality Industry Dialogue” always taking place on the first day of the fair. Since 2008, Maria Puetz-Willems has been transforming the stage to a professional exchange platform between international hotel experts. HID is committed to quality.

Between 2006 and 2017, Maria already established the “ITB Hospitality Day”, a sponsor-free hotel convention at the world’s leading travel trade show ITB Berlin and made it a success story with 300 panelists and more than 16,800 audience members in 12 years.
