(June 1, 2018). Just 10 days until the HITT premier – the HospitalityInside Think Tank in Berlin. This begins with a small change among the impulse providers. Bryson Koehler from IBM Watson had to cancel his participation, so his colleague Rob High, Vice President and also Chief Technology Officer will open the HITT as a first speaker. So HospitalityInside will retain the “think outside the box” approach from the very beginning.
Rob High is Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for IBM Watson and the Cloud Platform portfolio. He is responsible for the technical strategy for Watson’s cognitive thinking, cognitive experiences and orientation in respect of analytics. In the IT scene, he’s considered an evangelist and already received awards in 2008 for his trailblazing work in the field of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). He will come specially from New York to attend the event.
With this, the speeches from all impulse providers (speakers) will run smoothly into one another:
IMPULSE 1: Feel the heart beat: The landscape of emerging technologies & its relevance for the hotel industry. The big picture.
By Rob High, Chief Technology Officer, IBM Watson and Cloud Platform portfolio
IMPULSE 2: Identify the change: The interaction between man & machine. Threats and benefits of a new relationship.
By Prof Dr Thomas Lachmann, Chair Cognitive and Developmental Psychology, Center for Cognitive Science, University of Kaiserslautern
IMPULSE 3: Understand the systems: Artificial Intelligence: The big digitalization shift influencing the hotel business.
By Dr Andriew Lim, Professor of Technopreneurship and Innovation, Hotelschool The Hague (HTH), The Netherlands
IMPULSE 4: Watching trends. The Chinese perspective. Leading emerging technologies.
By Prof Dr Wolfgang Arlt, Founder & Director, COTRI China Outbound Tourism Research Institute, Hamburg, Germany.
In close touch with the experts
The HITT premier will be attended by around 55 people – an optimal size to be able to pose questions and make contact with colleagues including resepected experts from the tech world. Participants are all senior managers and executives from hotel operations as well as from the world of hotel real estate. Correspondingly, the group will divide in the afternoon into two workshops. The language used at the Think Tank will be English.
Sponsor partners will also make their contribution with expertise and contents – also with activities over the following ten months in which the aim is to remain creative, to think outside the box, push subjects forward and find solutions for the industry. For this reason, we would today like to extend a big thanks to our partners Sabre Hospitality, HSDS (Hospitality Software Development Services), EXPO REAL and REIN/Real Estate Innovation Network, Drees & Sommer, AccorHotels and the Hotel Academy The Hague.
The event will begin with a get-together on Sunday evening. Monday will all be about discussions on the seminar ship during which time HITT participants will glide silently across the water whilst the ideas flow. All information can be found on www.hitt.world.
